Shell Element Designer 4.1: a new interface and the Reinforcement Applicator
Version 4.1 rebuilds the application on a modern platform with a new sidebar interface and guided tour, and introduces the Reinforcement Applicator.
Shell Element Designer 4.1 looks and feels like a new product, while the engineering inside is exactly the same. It is the first step in turning required reinforcement into reinforcement you can build.
A new interface
The application has been rebuilt on a new, modern platform with a new sidebar interface, a guided tour for first-time users and a new Extract Data page. The dashboard, input files, options and run pages are laid out so you can see at a glance what is selected and what is still needed.
Built fast, verified identical
The platform was rebuilt in four weeks using a governed AI-agent development process, with every change reviewed by an engineer. The design engine itself was not touched: it remains human-built and fully validated. Before release, the new version was run against the previous one on a 65,714-element model and produced identical results.
The Reinforcement Applicator
Required reinforcement is only half the answer; the other half is a layout someone can fix on site. The new Reinforcement Applicator lets you draw reinforcement regions panel by panel against a live map of demand, using rectangles, polygons or whole panels. Regions save and load as open files, and one click generates the provided-reinforcement file for the design modules, so you can check what you have specified against what every element needs.
